Jersey Live is set in one of the most unusual and picturesque backdrops you could ever hope to find a music festival. Situated a mere 14 miles off the coast of France, the island is home to stunning beaches and lush countryside, combined with a unique Anglo-French culture that is cosmopolitan yet laid-back, decidedly British yet tinged with a continental feel. What better place to party?
What with Jersey having a massive chunk of water separating it from the British coast, it’s not on the regular touring circuit for up-and-coming indie bands, and this is what makes the festival atmosphere unmatched anywhere in the world; Jersey folk don’t take top-notch live music for granted, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a bunch of people as up for a party.
Some of the artists that have performed at Jersey Live include The Prodigy, Kasabian, Foals, Super Furry Animals, Snow Patrol, The Fratellis, The Zutons, Razorlight, 2ManyDJs, Editors, We are Scientists, Pigeon Detectives, The Futureheads, James Lavelle, The Ordinary Boys, Art Brut, Does It Offend You yeah!, Goose, The Subways, & Erol Alkan to name a few.
Speaking after their euphoric headline performance on the Main Stage of Jersey Live 2005, Tom Meighan, lead singer of Kasabian said: “This is just the BEST reception we have had at a festival all year. Jersey is just so cool! The audience are amazing! We wanna come back next year. Surreal & super-f***ing cool. Bring it on in 2006!”
The first lady of music radio, Edith Bowman, said “Jersey Live has more pulling power than any other small festival” after compering at Jersey Live ‘06.
Jersey Live welcomes all festival-goers worldwide to come and join the fun. More than 20% of the attendees are from overseas, and keep coming back every year!
Jersey Live celebrates the sense of pride and identity amongst the island’s community and has become the most unique, important cultural event within the islands busy calendar. We are a major supporter of rejuvenating the tourism market, not only within Jersey, but in the Channel Islands as a whole.
